Easter Egg Oreo Balls (Printable)

Creamy Oreo and cream cheese centers dipped in chocolate, shaped like festive Easter eggs.

# What You Need:

→ Cookie Base

01 - 36 Oreo cookies (about 1 standard package)
02 - 8 oz cream cheese, softened

→ Coating & Decoration

03 - 12 oz semi-sweet or white chocolate, chopped or in chips
04 - Assorted colored candy melts or food coloring (optional)
05 - Sprinkles, edible glitter, or colored sugar (optional)

# Steps:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside for later use.
02 - Place Oreo cookies, including the filling, in a food processor. Pulse until finely crushed into uniform crumbs.
03 - Add softened cream cheese to the crushed cookies. Blend until a thick, uniform dough forms, ensuring no dry crumbs remain.
04 - Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough. Shape each portion into an egg shape and place on the prepared baking sheet.
05 - Freeze the shaped Oreo eggs for 30 minutes or until firm to the touch, making them easier to coat.
06 - Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely smooth.
07 - Using a fork, dip each chilled Oreo egg into the melted chocolate. Gently tap to let excess drip off, then return to the baking sheet.
08 - If desired, drizzle with colored candy melts or sprinkle with decorations before the chocolate sets. Chill for at least 15 minutes to firm the coating.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • No oven required which means you can make these while your kitchen is already full of other Easter dishes
  • The cookie dough texture inside is ridiculously creamy and the chocolate shell adds the perfect snap
02 -
  • Freezing the shaped eggs before dipping is non negotiable. Warm dough will melt right into your chocolate and create a mess that tastes good but looks tragic.
  • If your chocolate starts getting too thick while dipping gently reheat it for 10 seconds. Working with stiff chocolate leads to thick uneven coating that cracks when you bite into it.
03 -
  • If you want perfectly shaped eggs use a small egg shaped mold or press the dough gently against the back of a tablespoon to form the curve
  • Mix a tiny bit of vegetable oil into your chocolate coating if it seems too thick for smooth dipping
