Easter Birds Nest with Peanut Butter (Printable)

Chewy peanut butter chocolate nests filled with candy eggs. Easy no-bake treats ready in 20 minutes.

# What You Need:

→ Base Mixture

01 - 1 cup creamy peanut butter
02 - 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
03 - 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
04 - 4 cups crispy chow mein noodles

→ Decoration

05 - 54 candy-coated chocolate eggs

# Steps:

01 - Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside for nest formation.
02 - Combine creamy peanut butter, semisweet chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each, until completely melted and smooth, approximately 1–2 minutes total.
03 - Add crispy chow mein noodles to the melted mixture. Gently fold with a spatula until all noodles are evenly coated with the chocolate-peanut butter mixture.
04 - Scoop approximately 2 tablespoons of mixture onto prepared baking sheets to form mounds. Using the back of a spoon, create a small indentation in the center of each mound, shaping into nest-like structures with raised edges.
05 - Immediately press 2–3 candy-coated chocolate eggs into the center indentation of each nest while the mixture remains pliable. Ensure eggs are secure but not completely submerged.
06 - Refrigerate nests for at least 30 minutes or until completely firm. Serve chilled or allow to reach room temperature for 10–15 minutes before serving.

# Expert Advice:

  • The salty crunch of chow mein noodles against creamy chocolate creates the most addictive texture combination
02 -
  • Do not overmix the noodles or they will crush into tiny pieces, losing that satisfying crunch
  • Work in small batches when shaping because the chocolate firms up faster than you expect
03 -
  • If your chocolate mixture seems too thick, stir in a teaspoon of coconut oil to loosen it without affecting the flavor
  • Use a cookie scoop for uniform nests that look bakery-perfect
